Advent Blip - Day 20

Some fresh snow this morning over Tullibody and for a short while the whole place looked much more pristine and presentable than normal. Which isn't hard really.

The Delph Pond is frozen over and the wildlife down there is crushed into a very small patch of water. Unfortunately this also brings out all the daredevils who think that one or two nights of freezing means the ice is going to be strong enough to hold their weight. A crowd of youngsters were all egging each other on to venture further and further out onto the ice and I don't think they took on board any of my suggestions that the ice wasn't thick enough yet. Don't fancy a dip in that at all today.

As for the roads I think the council managed to eventually get the gritters out at some point as they weren't as treacherous looking as they had been last night. I'm not sure that the lack of the gritting lorries visible yesterday might have had anything to do with the local Council having their various Christmas parties on Friday night; spotted a fair number of them out and about on Friday (cooncil workers, not lorries) and maybe there were a few drivers 'unavailable' for one reason or other.

Off now to finish off the Chilli Tikka Korma from last night - might even heat it up this time - then chill for a bit and catch up with some telly. (Talking of which... Sky have an interesting little clip playing just now of a roaring log fire. It's amazing how hypnotic it is just watching and listening to it - obviously the real thing would be better - and I just thought what a great wee idea it was)

This being on holiday lark's great!

Proximity to Christmas indicator backup: Mrs. Delphwynd spending 2 hours wrapping presents this morning. I did offer to help but was chased - I suspect there was something she didn't want me to see in that lot...
