Vive le tour

Tour mania has hit the UK , le grand depart on Saturday. One of my good friends works for CSC (title sponsor of the top team) so managed to sneak into their launch day at the CSC offices.

They introduced all the riders who mingled with the crowd, all good fun, I had a chat with Carlos Sastre the team leader, smaller than he looks on TV, and got a picture, unfortunately my stand in camera man did push the button hard enough so no pic (I only realized after the opportunity for a re-shoot was gone) However got a shot with Stuart O'Grady the winner of Paris-Roubaix. Also got to go on the team bus and into the bike wagon - chatted to the mechanic, what a good fun day for a cycling geek!!

So interesting facts ... the carry 135 zipp carbon wheels for the tour, have 45 bikes, 5 per rider, 2 TT bikes and 3 normal bikes, 1 set up for the mountains, they are using speedplay pedals this year too ... Am I boring you?? Barne Riis is very slim ... must be the TV that makes him look chubby
