Blue moon

I was hoping to grab a shot of the meteor shower that passed by in the early hours of this morning. Last week I had a test run to see what the night sky looked like from the garden and before the clouds rolled in you could clearly see Orion. Tonight is the same; clear, black skies with sparkling stars. This morning, when the meteors were hurtling past, the sky was a murky purplish-black and the horizon looked like the sun was still setting. At 1am. I have no idea why, but needless to say I couldn't get my shot. So here's my lamp shade looking like a substitute moon but made of twine for some reason.
