Heroic?

People who commission statues sometimes don't see the irony of the location they choose to display the finished work. In this case, a statue of Robert Falcon Scott man hauling his sledge, with Norwegian Church in the background. It was made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 'Age of Antarctic Discovery'. It is on the waterfront at Cardiff Bay, near the Welsh Assembly. We were lucky with the weather at lunchtime, getting the sunny break between early rain and the showers in the afternoon. It is definitely high spring down here in Wales, as yesterday we saw the first Swallows and today the first Martins of the year. The bluebells are also out and the trees are almost in full leaf.
