Queuing for Day Seats at the National Theatre

Taken at about 8am, these two people, a London student and a man from New York, were part of the queue for tickets for tonight's performance of King Lear with Simon Russell Beale in the title role. It's a very friendly crowd usually, with interesting conversations starting up (I chatted with a woman who had just come back from Palestine where she had been doing human-rights work), and a pleasant sense of anticipation of the coming performance.
