Nothing happens here...

Tying up loose ends...

I bought this hat box in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in early 1990's. I have often wondered who the people were who travelled so widely in those pre-WW2 days.

Then last year Blipper 'ceridwen' sent me a link to a reference to Mr and Mrs Hoza on a US website. Now I've acquired a pic of them sitting in their front room. It was a pic syndicated to US newspapers in March 1940. Part of the caption read…

One of the Bata Shoes executives sits in the living room of his duplex home with his wife. The furnishings are typical of any average American home. This, like others renting for $5 a week it is heated by oil burners. Cooking is done by canned gas since the city (Belcamp, Maryland) has not yet piped in a gas line.

Thanks for your help Ceridwen for solving a 20 year old mystery. Isn't the internet marvellous!
