The Angel of the North

This has been a day of ancient and modern. We began this beautiful day by visiting the ancient priory at Finchale. We took lots of photos including so some of a young Dipper being fed be its mother on the river edge. From there we stopped by this modern sculpture created by Antony Gormley. It is Britain's largest sculpture and is viewed by more than 1 person per second, 90,000 every day, and 32million each year! It is 20m (65ft) high and has a wing span of 54m (175ft). We then had a walk in Newcastle where we commented (not very favourably) on the mixture of old and new together. All in all a very good day. Hope you have had a good day too and we will try to catch up with comments soon.
