Bluebells ...

... in what I am tempted (suddenly, for the first time), to call the heart of Paris. It's the 13th arrondissement, as many of you know. It's not really near the geographical center, but it's where we have been living for a fair part of each of the last seven years. Specifically, these beauties are on the edge of a small park and play area at the center of the Place de l'Abbé-Georges-Hénocque (I'll try to mark the exact spot on the map :)

The Abbé Georges Hénocque (1870-1959) was a French cleric (aumonier) who worked in the resistance during WW II. Other blips with the Place are here and here.

In September 1979 Pierre Goldman, French leftist intellectual, was assassinated at the Place Hénocque . His killers (three gunmen who were heard speaking Spanish) have never been identified. In March 2011 I blipped a French TV crew filming a documentary on Goldman.
