Toward the Ring of Brodgar

I had a good walk in the hills of Stenness. Took a lot of photos (on Flickr here )but am posting this one, taken later in the day, as the light was disappearing, at the edge of the Loch of Stenness looking toward the neolithic stone circle at Brodgar.

It was getting darker as I walked toward the ring. I passed the unexcavated mound called Salt Knowe and thought that if it opened up and I was invited in, I would get a warm, but accept no food or drink. Just to be on the safe side.
