My Cherry Blossom Tree

This tree was bought for me by my mum when we moved into our present house in April 1971 so it's now 43 years old. She bought it as a sapling from Woolworths in Crossgates for about 7 shillings and 6 pence that's old Money around 38 to 40p in todays. Now its a beautiful specimen this time of the year and provides a lovely shady spot in summer when the blossom has gone.
Now I am getting old I often think of the piece of poetry by A.E.Houseman
The loveliest of trees, the cherry now
is hung with blossom along the bough
...etc.

Well my three score years and ten have passed so each year I am happy to see the Cherry Blossom and hope I will see it next year too.
