Purple haze

I notice this garden which I pass just before arriving at work; each year it blooms in a perfect blend of colours so here it is.

This afternoon we were able to take the children into the school grounds as part of our Habitats topic. I find it so pleasing when you are able to help children recognise new plants and 'critters'. I was able to show them a coppiced hazel tree and there were lots of interesting plants such as 'lords and ladies'. They really enjoyed it. I always feel children need so much more outdoor learning and I'm a great believer in 'Forest Schools'
