Yeovil Town FC

As we had been in London this week we reached a wet and windy Brighton in time for lunch, but the other 470 Yeovil Town supporters that came to the match tonight had a long journey across the south of England.
We held them to a nil/nil draw until the 70 something minute when they put a goal in the back of the net. There was still time to equalise - just - but in the added time almost with the last kick of the game Brighton & Hove Albion made it 2-0.
Our supporters are a jolly lot, good natured with a great sense of humour. Our season tickets at YTFC are at the opposite end to the green army, but tonight we were in the same part of the stand so could fully appreciate their endless songs and chants. From " We love you Yeovil oh yes we do", to "let's pretend we've won the League" and particularly "Is there a fire drill ?" when fans start leaving early they cheered us throughout the game. However, when around the 85th minute they descended the stand chanting happily despite this being our second to last game in the Championship, the security detail became worried and suddenly we were surrounded by security and the police. But the lads knew that Yeovil Management and players wouldn't ignore them and their loyalty and sure enough as the final whistle blew Gary Johnson and his team walked across to applaud the crowd, with the players throwing their shirts into the crowd to be eagerly grabbed by the fans.
I have to admit to feeling choked, sad but mostly rather proud of Yeovil's attempt on the Championship League, with the size and financial ability of a League Two team, the win at Wembley last May caterpaulted us into a dream world of matches that we will always remember and talk about for years to come.
