New Lanark

We've wanted to go to New Lanark for a while now and with the weather forecast at least looking dry we thought we'd pop across today.

New Lanark is a World Heritage site which allows you to explore what was once the biggest cotton mill in the UK. It's owner, Robert Owen, was also very forward thinking when it came to his worker's rights and living conditions. It really was a fantastic place to visit and learn about! And, to put the icing on the cake, the sun came out! Perfect.

This is the rooftop garden which is on top of one of the mill buildings which shows some of the site

We'll be back in the summer to explore a bit more of the scenery and riverside walks in the area!
