silver birch

I see this tree everyday, but today is the first time I’ve actually looked at it. It stands at the end of our drive and I pass it on the way out. (I've just realised that sounds rather grand - the drive is about 10 yards long).

It’s just part of the furniture, so to speak. I’ve no idea what variety of Silver Birch it is - the bark is white and paper thin and starting to peal in places; but it was these markings that caught my eye. If anyone knows perhaps they’d enlighten me.

It could be anything; footprints in a landscape.....?

I have a photo of eucalyptus bark with looks like a dolphin, here, along with a few others from our trip to Oz to see Mollymay last year.
