In the middle of nowhere

Even on Sunday car driving is not my favorite thing. But its only twice a year that we have to make these five hundred and twenty miles from Bad Karlshafen to Holland and back. You know that we prefer travelling by train. We feel more at ease that way and you can read, look around and sleep a bit, if nodding is asking for more. If you really want to have or do such things, you have to leave your car. Take a break and make a walk away from the parking. So we did, to smell some fresh air and relax our eyes and legs, somewhere alongside the highway. And I took this picture there: anonymous landscape in the middle of nowhere.

Since our arrival here in Carlsheaven all this “necessary” effort belongs to the past, thank heavens. Willemien had been unfortunate while clamp setting the load of our Mondeo Station:
she bruised her left pointing finger and will have to observe a six week rest now for the left hand. No more heavy manual work! We wish her a happy recovery time here. Now she can point to me with that handicapped finger her inescapable orders. No, seriously, she had done a lot of preparation for this trip and deserves well her time-out.

In the evening we made a short walk around, down hill up hill. And so we could breathe again the manifold greens, the earthy smells after the heavy rainfall of the last days. Many birds singing their evening song to welcome us. “So much more quality of life”, I wrote exactly a fortnight ago.
And that is so true and beneficent to BE back and walk around in our small Garden Town. Just to tumble into fathomless sleep...
