Gillipaw's Journal

WWRY

Early morning food shop to stock up for the festives - stress free, apart from no liquid glucose to be found anywhere, and I want to make Delia's Rum Torte

We left heavy snow falling in Glasgow and made it on the M8 to Edinburgh to see We Will Rock You at the Playhouse. It was packed out. This is the outside of the Theatre - shame they don't have a golden statue above the doorway. I had seen it in London at the Dominion, but it was a first for the rest of the family.

We thoroughly enjoyed. The girl who played Scaramouche was outstanding - and sight of her Saltire knickers certainly got a good response from the audience. I have always felt the storyline to be a bit weak, but the visuals on screen, dance moves and music make up for it.

Difficult return journey. -6.5 degrees, windscreen wash froze up, thick freezing fog over Harthill and snow on the road had us travelling very slowly. Not home until nearly 12.30 am.

Thinking of booking for Les Mis in the Spring now - we might let the train take the strain ....
