In Risca Park

Is this fellow - I took a photo of this a few years ago, it used to be a bronze colour but for some reason they painted it gold - not sure why.
Anyway the figure is dedicated to Lord Tredegar who gave the park to the people of Risca in 1897 in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.

Today the park is a love open space with a great playground for kids. In the Summer the park is normally home to a carnival or party in the park - which is great fun.

Todat saw more auditions for next season at the Dolman, and included a workshop for the fabulous musical Nunsense by Dan Goggin, which will close the season in June 2015 - it's very exciting and the direct Steve (who also directed Love Story) has a lot of amazing and exciting ideas for the staging already - it certainly will be one to look out for.
