Take A Bow..

Roma Day 3

Sun was back out today and after breakfast we decided to walk down to my favourite bridge in Rome, the Ponte St Angelo, which is near the Vatican. Just happened to pick the busiest day of the year to wander down there........ Although we were in the right place at the right time as the parade was marching down from St Peters and the policeman directing the crowd beckoned us to the front, just where they would turn right down another street. My favourite was this guy, in the Caribineri band, who I think looked like one of the hunks from Madonna's bullfighting video! Hence the title :-)

Met the Romans later, and they were driving us to Capalbio, a Tuscan medieval town set on a hill around 1.5 hours from Rome. It was beautiful, loads of little winding streets, with tubs of flowers at the door of every house. We walked round the town walls and then climbed the tower to see the amazing views of the green rolling Tuscan countryside, with olive and wine groves as far as the eye could see.

Lunch outdoors, although we were one of the few tables occupied as seemingly it's too cold for the Italians to sit out yet, despite the sunshine, and around 20 degress, there seemingly is a chilling breeze in the air...... (not for us)!!

Roof down on the drive back to Roma, with a sing song, then drinks in our hotel and an earlyish night before our trek to the other side of the map tomorrow!
