Carol Barkalow, Retired LTC founds Heaven on Earth

I attended a wonderful event put on by the GFWC West Coast Woman's Club which had many wonderful speakers. The most heart touching was the story of retired LTC, Carol Barkalow, who along with her partner founded Heaven on Earth for Veterans, Inc. (A soft place for veterans in need to land) They have formed a 501(c)3 corporation to provide quality living spaces for veterans in need. HOEV purchases and fully furnishes houses and leases living spaces to veterans so that they may have a safe place to live in low cost, safe and comfortable housing. This lady was one of the first 119 women to attend West Point and had a long and distinguished military career, and she came out after 9/11, moved to Florida and found her mission in St. Petersburg, Florida.
