100% Effort - Pontypridd v Leinster - BIC Cup

What a roller coaster of a day.

Today was the biggest day in Ponty's Semi Professional life.

About 5500 supporters packed into Sardis Road to see us strive to get a home final in the British and Irish Cup. What unfolded was one of the greatest performances I have ever witnessed on the Sardis Road pitch ... and it was all in vain. A 22-22 draw with Leinster and elimination by try count. The agony made even worse when Leinster scored in the 7th minute of injury time. Even then we had four more minutes to try and win we even had a penalty that dropped agonisingly short.

Two periods of extra time followed and everyone run and tackled to a complete standstill ... it was agony to watch. I've not been as heartbroken coming from a game for a very long time. At 22-15 with full time on the clock then the dream was reality. Sport is so cruel!

We left the ground with our heads held high and I think both teams had massive amounts of respect for each other at the end. There was no massive celebration from Leinster, just lots of tired bodies!

We had to dash up to Ross on Wye for Megans 10th birthday at full time ... at least that cheered the spirits!

I've put a load of photos on Flickr from the game. They can be found here!
