A beltway landmark

Anyone who's driven on the beltway around Washington DC knows this landmark, it comes into view right after a turn, an unexpected architecture pointing up from behind the trees, the DC Mormon temple.
The very first time I drove by, it was at night, this structure came into view, its white façade illuminated almost looking like it was radiating in the dark, I thought I saw a spaceship. I still think about that first odd impression I had every time I drive by.
