Volume 1 of the sublime Northern Triology by Daido Moriyama, made back in the analogue days when he was depressed, away from home and whiled away his nights drinking cheap whiskey. Quite simply the most breathtaking photobook series I have seen, he photographs the everyday and makes it something else, adding layers of narrative fragments, otherwordly intrigue and the odd post-apocalyptic vignette.
