Wolf Peach

I've been having a moan today about the price of tomatoes, and in general the increasing price of fruit and vegetables, given the fact that it doesn't keep very long these days.

Most people I have spoken to say that it's better to buy fresh fruit and veg from market stalls, the prices are lower and it's of a higher quality than the supermarkets. I am most definitely going to give our local market a try next week.

Of course, if my tomato plants do well, I will have my own super fresh stock this summer.

Random fact: The botanical name for the tomato is Lycopersicon esculentum, which means "Wolf Peach".
