Legends

My Dad adored aeroplanes of any kind, all his life it was a constant interest.
On March 7th 2012 he died, aged 88, just twelve days after Mum.

This was taken at the Imperial War Museum's Flying Legends weekend later that year.
Dad would have been far too frail for such a long day out, but as I enjoyed the sight and sound of so many historic aeroplanes, against a magnificent sky, I felt as though I was sharing his pleasure again.
The final event of the day was a Balbo, a flypast by twenty Spitfires. I'll never forget the wonderful sound of their engines.

Just one picture of that memorable day.
