The Good Samaritan

Feeling much better today.

My work took me to Huddersfield this morning and a trip to Dewsbury this afternoon.

This is the "Good Samaritan" sculpture, carved in Yorkshire sandstone and standing in front of the Town Hall in the centre of Dewsbury.

The sculpture was created by Ian Judd of Halifax.

I never knew that Dewsbury had its own flag. The blue and yellow checks are from the coat of arms of the de Warenne family. The two owls are taken from the coat of arms of the Savile family.
