It's Grim Up North

Cumbrian Fells from Hampsfell

Hampsfell is a area of limestone upland that rises up behind the little seaside town of Grange-Over-Sands. (You walk through bluebell woods to get up here, but this photo won over the bluebells.)
Once you get up here you can see for miles, as long as you choose the right day...... choose the wrong day and you can't stand up because of the wind blowing off the Irish Sea. Note the angle of the bushes.
Ambled about with friend and our dogs and then back down the fell to the Hazelmere Bakery for chocolate and beetroot cake; a calorific experience not to be missed.
