To be Dog Eared

My initial reaction on seeing this peacock butterfly was that it would provide a colourful focus point in amongst all the bluebells and whitebells.

However upon getting close up I could see that the poor old thing had very tattered and dog eared wings and that it was certainly not in the first flush of youth.

I suspect that it was just enjoying its last days of warmth and a little bit of sunlight.
