93 years a good innings

Today my father in law was laid to rest after 93 years a good innings by anyone's standards,

The last few weeks have been taken up with the preparation for his final send off and his family did him proud.

It's the first funeral I've been to with a humanist minister doing the services, but she didn't do anything remotely funny, but she did focus on the full life John had lead and today is a celebration of John's life and we should all continue to lead our life's to the fullest.

His son John and daughter Caroline did a very moving and thoughtful eulogy which covered John's full life and mention the part John played in the Second World War. John was in the RAF, not as a pilot, but as ground crew with the motto 'We kept them flying'. We left the chapel to the Dam Duster March
