Year 40, day 178

My nine-year-old felt like something "posh and fancy" for lunch. He specified exactly what he wanted, and I was in a rare mood to comply.

Observe the cheese omelette sprinkled with oregano and rosemary. Note, moreover, the toasted ciabatta, torn (*not* cut!) into chunks and topped with mixed leaves, cherry tomato slices, toasted pine nuts, and Camembert. Glimpse just a glistening hint of the drizzled olive oil.

This effort, you'll be pleased to hear, garnered a creditable 4 out of 5.

Kids these days. Honestly. It's the parents I blame.
