Swapping Swats

This Appaloosa and her bay friend stood rump to head, using their tails to do one another the favor of swishing flies away from each other. I've never seen horses do this before. The flies were swarming about their eyes and noses especially, so they both paid good effort in rhythmically sweeping each other's facial flies away. They seemed to be relaxed under the mutual fanning and to enjoy the unseasonably sunny and warm day. :)
