dr limelight in the lab .....

sdg92 and i were sharing thoughts about macro shots and how to try and extend the depth of field when you are close up to your subject ...... challenge time and the experiment began ....

subject = box of picture hooks, found when moved into the house (look nostalgic to me)
lens & distance = 100mm lens and subject about 50cm away
expected focus & dof = focus point at 50cm and f/8 means dof range minimal i.e. 50cm at front and rear

so experimented with taking multiple shots on tripod, same setting except the focus points varied, then in post production script, file-scripts-stack files and align images then edit - auto blend and this was the result - pretty good front to back focusing hence with align and blend managed to create at least 6cm of front to rear depth of field range ......
