But not in Iceland

Apparently Iceland Poppies grow in much of the Northern Hemisphere but apparently not naturally in Iceland! There is a written record about them dated 1759 but it would be interesting to find out the origin of their name. This bloom is the first in our garden. They grow every year under our front wall and hedge which is always damp and quite dark and just catch the sun at certain times of the day.

Visit to the hairdresser today which I love as I hardly ever go and one feels renewed afterwards! The same person cuts my hair and has done for years and I love hearing about her family as they are growing up. Her daughter is now at university studying to become a journalist and her son a chef. The other two are still at school.
