Therapy & Tell

‘Go on,’ says Stone to Wood,
‘you can tell me anything.
I’m sure you’ll find
it’ll do you good
to get things off your chest.’

He leans in,
fingers entwined,
hungry for confessions.

But her eyes
and mind
are closed to him.

She knows his kind.
He’ll sell her secrets
to a tabloid.

But she’s not annoyed.
She’s calm, benign
and doesn’t tell him
to get lost.

Perhaps she should?
