Live it loud!

Loughrigg Tarn

Back home after a great few days away in the lakes with some fabulous like minded people (not sure if that's a complement or not).

Had just an hour before needing to get on the road to try and miss the building bank-holiday traffic. That nearly succeeded. It was beginning to get rather sticky around Birmingham by early afternoon.

Washing already done and lawns mowed. Back to normal domesticity!

I have to say thank you for the great week - lots of jokes as well as some serious photography. I forgot to mention the little workshop session we did yesterday in the hotel bar while waiting for the weather to clear - the guys seem to think I know more than I do about things photographic. I only hope I have helped some of the issues and problems faced.

Now just got hundreds of images to wade through and do some work on. Should keep me quiet for a while.

Today's image was from a 30 minute stroll - the sheep kindly placed themselves to help the balance. Probably best viewed large.

Oh - BTW. Anyone going to the lakes, many of the car parks have changed. Not sure how recently but certainly since last year, but many of the Lakeland District carparks now use Number Plate recognition for working out what your charges are. On the way into the carpark cameras get a snap of your number plate. When you are about to leave you enter your registration into a machine and it works out what you owe. I suspect that is a ruse to have increased charges in some of the remote carparks if not all of them - they are all now expensive! £2 for 60 minutes (but nothing if you leave within 10) and then 30p per twenty minutes (I think….). They take cash and credit cards, even at the remote locations. However, you can pay up to 48 hours afterwards via the inter web!

Also, the cameras are not infallible. We were using two cars and twice one of them didn't get picked up. They were then charged the minimum £2 irrespective of how long we were there.
