Cricket Came Calling

When we went into the kitchen this morning, this guy was there to greet us. The dig went up and nosed it. No response from the cricket nor response further interest from the dog. We figured it was dead. I got in close with my cell phone to take this photo. Again, nothing from the cricket. Surely it was dead. No clue how it got in here either. After its photo op, I picked it up to throw it in the trash. THAT'S when I discovered it was not dead. Perhaps the missing antenna was the reason for the lack if previous response? It certainly wasn't too cold or hot on the kitchen floor. I've never seen a live cricket hang around for anything before.
