Canal boats on the Wey Navigation

A friend and I walked from Ripley, Surrey, in a 6mile circular walk. ( I think it was a lot longer than that as we got lost several times!) We stopped at a nice pub by the canal for refreshments and saw many boats along the Wey navigation which links Guildford to the river Thames at Weybridge. It was made navigable using stretches of separate canal, and opened in 1653.
Pam Ayres, last night, was wonderful, such a jolly, happy few hours!
