What's the point of it

Tonight we went to see the Martin Creed Exhibition at the Hayward Gallery on the South Bank. His work is provocative and resists classification - he's best known for his 2001 Turner Prize intervention"The lights going on and off" and "All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes" for the launch of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

In this exhibition there are works created from a huge and diverse range of materials: neon lights, stacked girders and furniture, video, metronomes, a car, a room full of balloons, Cacti, and Lego. My favourite piece is "Mothers" - a HUGE rotating neon sign that spins at variable speeds just above your head on a 12.5m long beam. Yes, twelve metres - you can't help but duck when it whizzes overhead!
