Glorious

From being a desolate place over the last months, the canal bank has turned into a glorious haven for insects. The warmth of the sunshine brought out the butterflies and even more excitingly for me the damselflies.

Not really dressed for the occasion as nettle-beds and bare legs do not go together but it had to be done as I was just passing and couldn't resist checking out the water-life.

The canal is part of the Coombe Hill Nature Reserve in Tewkesbury - always a good location for insects and today didn't disappoint. With no dogs in tow I did get more of a chance to check out in stealth rather than having my quarry jumped on by Poppy who wants to star in every photograph these days. Photos over, back to get the leads for 'walkies', not to be said lightly or loudly unless very serious about it as there is mayhem at the prospect with both dogs almost somersaulting with excitement!
