a painted thing

As often as I can remember I'll take a photo of a finished picture as a record and this time I took an extra one of both subject and finished work to blip. There strangeness's abound...

I swear upon the earth I stand that my brush stroke marked down the exact same number of poppy heads as stood in fact, and truth, my eyes say it is so now! So what sneaked trick doth our box of light play whilst proclaimers shout it's incorruptible virtues in issuing forth only truth! And yet it lies!

In other words... I know the pic only shows 5 real poppy heads instead of the six I painted... but actually there are 6 there in the jar.
