Migrant in Moscow

Pushkino

The beautiful Church of Saint Nicholas at Pushkino, some 30 km northeast of Moscow. Photo taken at dusk from a moving car! The church been running since 1585; the first 100 years or so as a wooden structure and since 1694 as the current stone building. Best viewed in large.

The communist authorities closed down the church in 1940 and turned the building into storage for a neighboring collective farm. However, it was handed back to the congregation in 1947 and resumed its work.

This is an amazing 3D view of the inside of the church.
