The Chicken of Destiny

A belated Happy Christmas to all you blippers and watchers!

After a great couple of days up at bri and MrsB's celebrating Christmas with them, Mrs42 and I came home and hosted the traditional Mrs42 family Boxing Day get together. We had a great time...

... but my mother in law is mad.

I knew earlier in the year when Mrs42 and her mum were reminiscing about a pottery chicken that sat on their kitchen table (designed for eggs but used to hold all sorts of random stuff) that we wouldn't be able to escape getting one for Christmas, however much I didn't want one.

I didn't bank on it being delivered with a 'chicken starter pack' complete with rubber bands, a fuse, a couple of AA batteries and a curbi grip.

And 'instructions'. I quote:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHICKEN STARTER PACK

1. Carry your chicken starter pack towards the chicken which should be placed (as per chicken instructions) in the centre of a large table.

1b. Remember to remove all hazardous items (ie; boxes, cats, dust) from your planned route to the chicken.

2. Remove the chicken to from the bottom and scatter items randomly in the bottom of chicken.

3. Replace top.

4. Rummage around inside chicken (removing top first) every time you are looking for a hard to find item.

5. Always be aware of health and safety issues as sharp things, dirt and dead flies may be present.

There is no hope.

I am now stranded with a pottery chicken.

LOTD: Sarah's self portrait blip today is excellent, a different style and feel and really works.
