History's Alive!

A busy day today, with friends over for our first actual outdoor barbecue of the year, plus getting ready for tomorrow's big event in the village: History's Alive!. I went down to the green (Camping Close) to see how things were coming along, and took a few photos, but Josephine put up a nice blip here.

While I was walking up the High Street, I realised how much history really is alive in Linton.

This is a shot of the side of what is usually referred to as "the oldest house in Linton", dating back to sometime in the mid to late 1300's, I believe. On the side of the house is the old "fire hook", which was used to pull burning thatch off roofs to keep the flames from spreading.
