Ragged Admiral

This yellow admiral was feeding on nectar from the Viburnum flowers. It was able to fly competently even with the ragged wings.

Today I had a handful of tender young dwarf beans with my dinner. I grew them in a big pot which I kept in a sheltered sunny spot until the temperatures turned cooler. Then I moved them to the greenhouse. I cover them at night. Great to have fresh beans this far into autumn. For Northerners May is equivalent to November.
