Cancer Walk

Today we walked the "Breathe Deep Michigan 5k" in an effort to help raise money for lung cancer research and treatment. The day was damp and chilly but the event was full of warmth. The testimonials from survivors and those who have list loved ones to cancer were pretty emotional.

We walked for my wife's sister. A lifelong non-smoker, she was diagnosed about 18 months ago. Her cancer is inoperable but after treatments she is stable and doing well. But living with cancer is a bitch. She is in our prayers daily and we continue to pray for a cure.

We walked with some friends and after the walk we had a nice lunch together before heading off for a long list of Saturday chores.

The walk raised over $40,000. A huge chunk of it was raised by a local dance team. Some of the dancers can be seen in the top pic.
