Morris Dancing

This weekend is unusual, in that Alan is at home for the whole weekend and is not either working, or playing on trains.

In celebration, we went out to Frankie & Bennys for breakfast, then Alan took his timesheet in, while I went a bought a new pair of sandals (because it was sunny yesterday!!)

It was still quite early after we'd done that and I remembered that our local community library was having a 'fayre'. This library was closed by the Council last year as part of budget cuts, but was saved by volunteers who decided to run it as a community library. I haven't actually been since it changed over, as it is easier for me to get to another library after work.

Anyway, the fayre was in full swing when we got there, with a local folk group The Smugglers playing, followed by Morris dancers.

There was also a display of martial arts (that'll be the bloke on his backside beyond the Morris dancers!), some birds of prey, a local masseuse giving 10 minute tasters, book, plant and craft stalls, plus hot dogs and ice cream.

We only stayed about half an hour, listened to the band, went and stroked a barn owl, then watched the Morris dancers for a bit. Came home and had a snooze.

All in all, a pretty good Sunday.
