The long walk out.

We spent the weekend in Fisherfield. Drove up Friday night. Parked at Kinlochewe at nine PM put on our packs and walked twelve kilometres on good paths to the campsite.

I hate putting up tents in the dark, you never get a flat spot and there is always a lump under your sleep mat.

On Saturday we struck camp and walked a further ten Kilometers to the foot of A Mhaighdean, put up the tents and then headed up the hill. After heaving a 12kg pack over rough heather the walk up the hill was a relief. The weather was cool and clear with high cloud. The views from the top were spectacular Please look at other photos of the weekend..

Just as we got back to the tents it started to rain, so there was little social activity amongst the group. Instead we all caught up on the sleep we had not got the night before.

This shot is of Loch Fada, and the group who headed off to walk Slioch Pass. My own smaller group took the longer, easier, quicker Heights of Kinlochewe path.

Home now and tent is over the pulley to dry out.
