Pieter & Willem, the Dutch Krays

My dad and his big brother, my Uncle Bill

This is dad, 70 yesterday, and Bill, 75 a week or so back. We had a bit of a do. There were 84 of us and that wasn't the whole family.

Arie, the oldest brother, was the photographer. He used to do the family pictures. He passed last year and we missed him today.

I took a few in my own amateurish fashion - not a patch on Uncle Arie though.

Its been a cracking day. I'm part of a big, disparate family who hardly see each other but when we meet and remind ourselves who everyone is, well, things gel.

Family matters.
