Adler Day

After yesterday we were glad to not have an early morning event like our travelling companions. We had a leisurely morning and then went to find all the fun. At the Vancouver Olympics the entire town was a fun social adventure - parties, people, food. We were excited to find that in Sochi.

So we set out for the street market and the Live Site (official viewing locations) of Adler. We had quite the adventure, but we never did find where everyone was congregating. Our adventure today included:
- eating tasty shwarma from a street vendor who taught me to say 'chicken' in Russian
- Andy being interviewed by a German TV station (we later actually saw his interview on TV!)
- having our ears assaulted at close range by a band doing a sound check...and then never playing for real
- eating horrendously salty popcorn, and drinking really terrible coffee and tea (no outside food/drink at the Live Site)
- sticking my hand in the the Black Sea
- reading the McDonald’s menu in Russian - very fun to see the changes
