3 Shires Stone

3 Shires stone is a marker up on Wrynose Pass and marks the meeting point of 3 historic boundaries. Lancashire, Cumberland and Westmoreland. Next to the stone lay 3 rocks, on each a letter to represent the counties.

Today, this was the starting point of a route up to Honister Pass taking in Cold Pike, Bowfell, Esk Pike, Great End, Great Gable, Green Gable, Brandreth and Grey Knott.

A good day out and tired legs at the end
