The Old Ways

Humans are animals and like all animals we leave tracks as we walk: signs of passage made in snow, sand, mud, grass, dew, earth or moss.... We easily forget that we are track-markers, through, because most of our journeys now occur on asphalt and concrete--and these are substances not easily impressed.”
Robert MacFarlane*

Horrendous weather till about 3pm - lashing, so more virtue: cleaning, planting out the French beans and being introduced to the the joys of using stickie notes on a pdf file!
The weather improved and I went up to look at the waterfall to see if it was gushing. It was but I rather liked this little track with the birch trees. It feels ancient and it leads appropriately enough up to the stone circle.

It's son#2's birthday. We've just skyped. 31 - impossible, I'm not much more than that myself. Here he is then . Here he is now. And this is what he can do . We bought him a go-pro camera for his birthday - you can attach it to moving objects. PigDog is not impressed. Happy birthday Joe.
